kapaau townThis picturesque town is located to the west of Hawi. One of it's main attractions is the statue of of King Kamehameha the Great. The statue was first commissioned in 1878, cast in Paris and was lost at sea during it's voyage. It was recovered from a wrecked ship in the Falkland Islands and sent to Kapa'au Town where it stands today.



The statue is located in the center of town across from the public library. Stroll around to visit several small shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants.

 

Direction

Take Highway 270 west from Hawi. Kapa'au is located at Mile Marker #25.
