The Lili'uokalani Park and Gardens covers almost 30 acres on the Waiakea Peninsula. It is named for Queen Lili'uokalani, the last reigning monarch of Hawaii who bequethed part of park land for public use. Located on Banyan Drive in next to Hilo Bay, it is a an authentic Japanese garden park built in the early 1900's as a memorial to Japanese immigrant sugar plantation workers. Beautiful grounds for a leisurely stroll featuring with gazebos, fish ponds, bridges, statues and a panoramic view across Hilo Bay.

Direction

The town of Hilo is located just north of the Hilo Airport. From the airport, turn right on Highway 11 which ends at Banyan Drive. The park is located on Banyan Drive next to Hilo Bay.
