This is on the rainy side of The Big Island. The drive around and to these falls is beautiful, and there is also a little rain forest you can visit. One of the most stunning waterfall settings in Hawaii. The triple Umauma Falls cannot be seen from the highway bridge. You CAN see a waterfall from the road, but the actual Umauma Triple Falls is further mauka (towards the mountain) and accessible for viewing only by the road through the World Botanical Gardens. Be sure to take the time to see it. It is one of the only triple tier falls in Hawaii.
You will zip past or over 14 waterfalls including the famous triple-tiered Umauma Falls at heights up to 160 feet. KapohoKine's certified staff will guide you over the longest zipline on the Big Island of Hawaii at more than 2,100 feet in length. You'll also get to experience the only side-by-side dual-track zipline on the island.
Direction
Go 16 miles north of Hilo on the Hawaii Belt Road (Hwy 19). At Mile Marker 16, take the road inland. Turn right and park by the first gulch.
